Counseling
Individual Counseling. Counseling is employed to help participants learn new ways of coping with symptoms, manage stress, and improve interpersonal relationships. Areas addresses may include dealing with changes in mood, anxiety, or thought processes; understanding the impact of alcohol and drugs; identification of early warning signs and relapse triggers; using self-help for recovery, developing a strong support network, etc. Sessions may also include role playing to develop confidence and mastery of refusal skills, management of challenging social situations, etc.
